I am an interior designer by trade with a serious passion for writing and content creation. I am a Wisconsin native, but these days, you can find me living in the Seattle area.
One of my crowning achievements was winning the “Optimist Student of the Month” award in the eighth grade. Please, hold your applause.
Why Koala?
No marsupial obsessions here, although ... c’mon. They are pretty freaking adorable.
Koala is a nickname my husband had for a time in high school because it is close to his last name. Now that that is also my last name, I liked having a personal touch with my business name that was cuter, more memorable, and easier to spell than K-o-w-a-l-s-k-e. See what I mean?

I received this gift because I am SUCH a huge fan of “The Office.” Also, it’s from my husband, and he basically has to think I qualify for this award. Also, I am the only one in this office.

One of my very favorite trips was volunteering to build homes in El Salvador with Habitat for Humanity Global Village. The incredible people, the hard work, and the delicious pupusas made for a truly unforgettable experience.
